How do I sum up what has been going on with us these past few weeks. Well, backed up sewer, laundry mat, remodeling, and baseball season to name a few.
We have had issues with our septic tank. Had it snaked twice because it was coming up our shower when I did to many loads of laundry. After that, it seemed to work so we didn’t have it fixed. BAD mistake!! It was ok for a few days and then it started to get exciting. When we are in the shower and we hear the toilet start to bubble we know we have seconds before it comes up the drain and we are then stepping in squishy stuff and need another shower. Do to the conditions we have been like a tornado of shower people. In and out as many as we can as fast as we can and only every other day. I still refuse to wash my dishes by hand so my dishwasher takes a lot of the water use. The beautiful rain we have had has been nice and as Kenny says “Pennies from Heaven.” But, it fills the leach line up so that means less water use for us.
After we had a few close calls with the septic I decided it was just worth it to go to the laundry mat. It is nice because I get all the laundry done at once, it entertains Jayda by putting the coins in the slots (can’t take her to Vegas because she would enjoy it to much) and while we wait we get our errands done. However, I realize it’s expensive to be poor.
On top of all that I got the itch to repaint the front room. We changed it from Yellow to a medium color brown. It looks really good and I like it, except now I want to change the whole room. I ordered book shelves and need crown molding and base boards still.
While waiting for that I also, ordered Tayah and Jayda bunk beds. Which meant we have to paint her room, which means I needed new comforters to pick out the paint. Doesn’t this seem like the book “If you give a Mouse a Cookie?” We had less than a week to decide and if you know Tayah and I that is almost impossible. I was very proud of us because we got it all done in a day. She choose a bright green. I mean, sunglass wearing, hurting eyes green.
So we moved her room into the already messy front room and went for it. It actually doesn’t look so bad with the white trim and purple on the bedding and curtains. I will post pictures later. We still have a bit to do to finish her room because I decided I wanted to change things again.
Things are almost back to normal in both rooms. We have to wait for the molding and hanging up pictures in the front room and some decisions on my part. This has been really satisfying to me. I look at my kitchen and family room and imagine the endless possibilities. Kenny has put a stop to that until the other projects are done.
Baseball season is the busiest season for us. We signed Zach and now Trey up for Northwest baseball in Bakersfield. Zach has been playing there for 4 years and this will be Trey’s first year. They are both excited for the season to start. Kenny decided to coach Tayah’s softball team here at the lake. She is really excited to have her dad be her coach. I am excited they will have a good amount of daddy, daughter time.
So begins the busy spring season.
