Sunday at St. Kitts

It's Sunday and so we all load up in the vans and head to church. When we looked at the web site it said worship started at 10:10 and the first meeting was at 9am. So it sounds like we need to be there at church at 9am. Church would never start after the hour. But, once again I wasn't listened to. We thought we were early arriving at church at 9:50 but nope we walked into sacrament late. This was totally the worst case of "Mormon Time" that I have seen. We felt bad for walking in late so we stayed for Sunday School. The kids weren't to excited but they went anyways. It was really nice because Gerry and J went with us. Gerry had quite the experience at church with an oriental guy. We laugh about it now and I am glad she can laugh too.

This was our big group, 24, walking in so late, and we aren't the most reverent group either.

This is my Jayda and a local girl from the church named Jada. They are the same age and last time we were there we took pictures and they both have grown so much. They are so cute and it will be fun to see them grow up together if we keep coming to St. Kitts.

After church we drove the island. This a point where the Atlantic Ocean is on the left and the Caribbean sea is on the right. It is a really pretty point to site see. The Atlantic side has much bigger waves than the Caribbean side. The Caribbean side is a lighter blue and is nice to snorkel.

This is the famous "Wilber" the pig. He lives at the Cockashell Bay Beach, or Rage beach. He just lays in the sad all day until dinner time. We had to get Flat Tayah's picture with this huge pig.
There is more monkey's than people that live on this Island. The monkey's get in real big trouble we were told. We tried to get Flat Tayah's picture with this monkey and sure enough this monkey is a BAD monkey. The saying "The Monkey Ate My Homework" is so true in this case. That monkey grabbed Flat Tayah so fast that we couldn't get her back in one piece. I was afraid the goat would get a hold of it too.
Thankfully we got it back before the goat had a taste. The monkey tore off the leg and arm but with a long stick and distraction to the monkey and goat we got Flat Tayah out. We later had to do surgery to her and staple her back together.
Kenny was so proud of his kids when he saw them dig this big hole in the sand. Kenny always digs holes for the kids when we go to the beach and now the kids are doing it themselves. It was such a daddy moment.
Trey even took the hole digging a little farther and built Jayda a seat. She thought she was a princess and wouldn't let anyone sit in her spot.

Trey did pretty good snorkeling. He went part way and then was done. It wasn't the best snorkeling so he got a little bored. Their wasn't big fish or sharks he said so he was done.
We did find a lot of sea stars. Tayah and Zach loved gathering them and comparing their size and shapes.
This was just like the lobster hunt. Once he found a few sea stars he was on the hunt to find as many as possible.
Kenny rented a kayak and we had a great time kayaking around the sea. It is a different perspective kayaking in the sea then the river that we are use to.
We all had such a great time that everyone had a turn. I think Jayda enjoyed it the most because she didn't have to take turns.
Ken and Linda seemed to do good kayaking.
Of course my boys had to add some thrilling excitement to this calm peaceful ride. They were laughing and caring on for a good while. It was fun to watch them having fun together and not fighting.
Trey, is becoming such a huge ham!! We had a great day and enjoyed everyones company.

I told you monkeys wouldn't make the best pets. And that one was in a cage......imagine the trouble he'd get into running around your house! LOL The picture of Jayda and Jada remind me of Jayda and Brady in size.(she kinda has a big head too...hehehe) And as far as Kenny goes, he's just glad that he doesn't have to do the manual labor on the holes anymore!

Don't you just wish...you were still there! Even with crazy monkeys and big pigs. I see those around my house every day though so that part is not too exciting. love the water pictures.
The kayaks look so fun. I love the church story! What a blast!
