Lizard Hunting

This past weekend the Titos' told my boys how they go lizard hunting to feed their pet snake. They take their BB gun and Airsoft gun and hunt for lizards down by the river. The whole past week that is all they have talked about is hunting and shooting. Why do boys love guns so much? Even if you were the type that doesn't like guns and forbid your boys to use and hold one it wouldn't matter. They would find anything and pretend it was a gun. It is just in their genes. We don't have one, but I would like to get one, and my boys are obsessed with getting a BB gun or Airsoft gun.
Zach and Trey were so excited when we told them they could go lizard hunting. They got on their eye protection gear and long pants on. The boys all hopped into the golf cart and drove just past their house by the river bank. They practiced shooting targets and then they tried shooting lizards.Derrick got both of the lizards for their snake. Trey said he shot a stink bug and Zach said he almost got a lizard. Is that like a fish story of how the big one got away? They had so much fun and now they are wanting a gun even more. I can't decided if I should let my 6 year old get one yet. Zach is going to be 11 and I might be ok with that. The thing that worries me the most is, they hurt each other with pretend swords. What will they do with the guns? They will definitely have to be put away until they go out shooting. They won't be stored in their room with all their other toys.

Trever got a Red Ryder BB gun when he turned 4. I know a little young. Alex got one a few years before that. We have only had garage windows broken, no sisters or animals. But it is nice to have around when a snake is in your yard. (right Cori?)
