Easter

Easter was low key and fun. We had our Easter dinner the night before with grandpa and grandma Bushling and Mitzi, Cheyenne, Shasta and Dakota. It was so good to have them be a part of our family. Earlier in the week I had planned to have all the kids dye their eggs together and have a happy lovely time (dreaming). Well, things don't turn out the way I want them too. Like I tell my family " It's all about me sometimes" they haven't understood that yet (ha ha). Jayda dyed her eggs earlier so she could take a nap. Tayah and Trey dyed their eggs later that day and then Zach did it by himself the next day. I was a little disappointed at first but it all worked out and it surprisingly was a very peaceful event for a change.

When we put an egg in the dye and took it out Jayda's, face was so cute. She was amazed at the magic.
She had to try it herself. She had two eggs and she would pull them out and then put them back in over and over again.,
She had a great time until I put the kabosh on the magic liquid dying power. Nap Time!
Jayda's new trick, putting what ever she can find on her head for a fun game of peak-a-boo. Easter buckets were a perfect fit for her tiny head. This triggered others to try to be like her.
Where are you Zach? I can't see you anymore!
Hey baseball head!! His head was a little to big for this basket but with a lot of pulling and turning his head he got it on.
The Easter bunny lead the kids on a scavenger hunt in order to find their Easter baskets. Tayah did exactly what the clues told her to do. They had to hop to the ramp in hopes the clue wasn't damp.
Zach was very good at helping Jayda follow them all through the hunt. She was so excited and tried to keep up with with them all. Next they had to jump to their next clue by the turtle.
They ended up in the exercise room and very excited for the fun little hunt. A new twist for the Bushling Easter morning.

Jayda loved all the candy inside her bucket. Her throwing up during Sacrament meeting had nothing to do with the fact she ate entirely to much candy before breakfast. She just thought the Sacrament cups might be chewing gum and gaged.Trey's breakfast was his chocolate bunny. Later the chocolate bunny was having a wrestling match with him in the bathroom. Needless to say the chocolate bunny won. I tried to make Easter morning more spiritual then just the bunny. Saturday night we made Easter morning cookies. We talked all about the ingredients and how they represented different things that happened with Jesus crucifixion. Saturday night we put the cookies in the oven and then sealed the oven. We had to wait until morning to get the cookies. We unsealed the oven and checked out our cookies. The cookies were hollow just like the tomb was when Jesus was Resurrection. We read about Jesus Resurrection and compared it to the cookies. I was so glad we decided to do this. I think with more preparation on my part it will be something we can do every year.

We had a little Easter egg hunt after church with grandpa and grandma Bushling. I, as usual, bought way to much because we have had our egg hunt with other families. We didn't do it this year and I think it will be the last year we do it alone. More fun with other families. We let Jayda go first so she would have a fighting chance at getting any eggs. It actually was Zach's idea because he know how competitive he would get even in an egg hunt.

We had to help her get the idea with the first few eggs then she caught on real quick and had a great time gathering the eggs. She shared the basket with grandma hoping to get a good treat. I think she enjoyed opening all the eggs but nothing excited more then the Peeps. What is it about the fluffy, colorful shaped sugar that we all love so much?

I think grandma stumped the kids because it took them a while (maybe 5 min.) to find her well hidden egg. Thankfully for her we didn't clean the yard up so the egg was in an overturned bucket in the middle of the yard. Stumped them all.Zach found anther egg a few days later hidden. I am glad we forgot to hide the hard boiled eggs because I would hate to forget to find one of those.

There isn't a better way to celebrate Jesus Christs Resurrection then to go and visit our sweet baby girl McKenzie. Oh how thankful I am for all the our Savior has done for us. Life would have a whole different meaning to it if it wasn't for him?
