SCIENCE PROJECTS YUCK!!!!!!!!!!! Kenny and I both have college degrees but they definitely are not in science. Zach wanted to do his project about fruit that floats. He wanted to see what fruit floats and what doesn't. We tried to bring in his scuba diving experience into it with the buoyancy and everything but it got way to complicated for all of us. We started a month a head of time but it wasn't until the last week that we actually came up with the final idea. It was about buoyancy. What fruit is more buoyant in fresh water over salt water, oranges or bananas. And does it matter if their peel is on or off for them to be buoyant.
Kenny finally washed his hands of the whole thing and it was up to Zach and I. We worked hard on the project. It was good and we both were proud. But next year I swear I might buy one on the Internet or start this summer so we aren't stressed out with all the things we have to do. We found out the salt water is more buoyant than fresh water and the skin makes the fruit buoyant.

I was so proud of my/Zach's project that I think I was beaming and couldn't wait to turn it in. Kenny took my picture of this project because he said I did a great job. Thanks hun, for leaving me with this project and a boy who could care less what it looks like but did what was asked of him because he likes to please people.

Tayah and her friend Ali decided that they wanted to do a science project too. Being in the 3rd grade you don't have to do one because they do one in their class rooms. But no, the girls needed to go above and beyond that. They decided this on Thursday and the report was due Tuesday. Thanks girls, I think Michelle and I did most of the project, well the written part at least. The girls wanted to know if the color of a candle determines how fast a candle will burn. During the experiment we burned a purple, pink, white, and green candle. While lighting the candles someones hair might have gotten in the way and started on fire. Thankfully my hair didn't burn to much and I was able to hit the fire out. Needless to say we didn't let the little brothers help us light the candles any more. The girls enjoyed the project especially putting the poster together. Boys and girls are so different in the way we like to get things done. Girls know how they want things done and boys don't care they just want it done.
Both Zach and Tayah did really well at the Science Fair. Tayah got honorable mentioned because she was only in 3rd grade. Zach, out of all the 4th graders got in the top 10 but didn't make it into the finals. What a bitter sweet thing. You want to see your kid do well and move on but on the same hand your glad because you don't want to redo the project and think of it for anther second. Kenny has already made Zach's science project for next year. We need an idea for Tayah now.
