We have had some excitement since we have been home from our week long trip (more on that later). We got home around 3:30 and started to unpack and I was doing great because Kenny's sister Cindy was coming and I wanted to be all cleaned up. We got a call from Bishop Stewart warning us that Erskine Creek is going to flood and coming down fast and taking all in its way. He said to be ready to go at any moment. We walked out side and saw no clouds and weren't sure what he was saying. We decided to be a "looky lu" and go check it out. Sure enough there was fire trucks and police officers blocking the boulevard getting ready for the flood. I thought maybe we should have packed our 72 hour kids and then thought Oh crap, our kits aren't updated and Jayda doesn't even have one. Then as we checked it out further I thought oh no I didn't grab my camera so I could take pictures to blog. It is funny how blogging becomes the focus of our (well, my) life. We went back and got the camera.

The flood didn't affect us personally but it was an amazing site. Watching the water flow over the boulevard with ash, burnt trees and mud. It unfortunately made a mess at Tank Park and all over the road. The next morning Kenny went to check the river and he said the river was black and ugly. I feel sorry for the rafters. As I am writing this there is another flash flood coming. It looks like we won't be affected again thank goodness.
The kids made a fort yesterday getting ready for the rain storm but it never came just the flash flood. But today it finally came down and boy did it ever come down. They were so excited to be in their fort for the big rain storm. We wished it lasted longer then 15 min. but we will take what we can get. They had a great time anyways.
